The Amazon Echo Dot is an amazing piece of technology that gives you to the smart assistant Alexa. Alexa is Amazon’s AI that allows you to access music, audiobooks, smart home device controls, news, weather and thousands of other things all with simple voice commands.
The Echo Dot is Amazon’s cheapest and smallest model that costs $49.99. It comes in black and white and multiples can be set up around the home so you don’t have to yell to access a single Dot.
While the colors of the Dot are limited, you can dress them up with the official covers from Amazon. They simply slide onto to exterior of the Dot and come in fabric or leather options.
The covers are meant only to change the look of your device since you don’t need to add protection since they are stationary.
I ordered three of the fabric covers since Amazon is running a promotion where you can save $10 by using the discount code CASE3PACK at checkout. I also own three Dots and wanted to spruce them up since they look rather boring.
While the exteriors are made of fabric and leather, depending on which type you order, they are plastic shells. They don’t fit tight, but they do cover the Dot nicely.
Don’t think of the Dot covers like you would think of a case for a cell phone. The Dots are meant to stay in one place since they are tethered to wall outlets. The covers don’t add any features besides simply improving the aesthetics.
The covers come in Charcoal, Indigo, and Sandstone in fabric and are priced at $14.99 each. They also come in Merlot, Saddle Tan, and Midnight for the leather versions and are priced at $19.99. The covers are a great way to dress up your smart devices and don’t cost a whole lot of money.
