All you need to do is head over to the Samsung Promotions website, and enter in a bit of information to claim your Gear VR headset. If you haven’t done so yet, make sure to create and register for a free Samsung account which will associate your phone to your account. This is good to do in order to access Samsung services as well as make the process easier for any future warranty claims.
In order to file your claim you will need these things:
- IMEI and MAC address number – You can find this information by opening the Settings app on your Galaxy S8 > Click on About phone > Touch Status and you will see your 14 or 15-digit IMEI number and Wi-Fi MAC address. Note: On mobile phones, tap and hold the target text field to copy your IMEI and/or Wi-Fi MAC address.
- Proof of purchase – take a screenshot of your digital receipt, or simply take a photograph of your paper receipt to upload to Samsung Promotion
Once you’ve filled in this information with your registered account, Samsung will mail out your new Gear VR headset and remote controller in the upcoming weeks so you can enjoy your Galaxy S8 or S8+ in a virtual world.
