After a couple of weeks of playing with my Samsung Galaxy S8+, I have to admit TouchWiz is growing on me again. It’s far from perfect, but Samsung is taking it in a direction that makes sense. One area which is nice is with Samsung’s theme store. If you wanted to change the look of your Android smartphone, you usually had to install a new launcher followed by icon packs. While this might be easy for most of us, it can be confusing for people like my mom or sister. Changing the theme on your Galaxy S8 can take place in a matter of seconds without ever needing to download a launcher.
If you want to change the entire look of your phone, you can follow these quick instructions.
Hold down on any part of your display that isn’t an icon.
At the bottom left, click Wallpapers and themes.
This will take you to the Samsung store where you need to have a Samsung account. It’s free of charge, and is identical to creating an account for the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Once you’re in the store, click on Themes.
Browse through the catalog of themes and pick one that you like. Many are free, so try them out before you commit to paying for one.
Once you find one that you like, click on it and then download and install it.
It will change the theme on your phone to give it a brand new look. If you don’t like it, you can simply go back to the default theme by following the same process. At the top you will see the themes you own – simply click on the one you want to install and it will change the look again.
