The number of unwanted calls to your smartphone is out of control. IRS scams, robocalls and market research calls are not only annoying but they can also lead to fraud causing you harm. The government has the Do Not Call registry, which you can sign up to prevent unwanted calls, but there are more ways than ever to work around it. Luckily there are tools on your smartphone that can block those callers, and for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ it can be enabled in just a few clicks.
Not all Android devices use the same phone dialer app, and there are slight variations between each of them. Since the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ were just released, there’s a good chance you grabbed one and are using it now. That’s why we’ve assembled the instructions on how to block those annoying callers.
Here’s how to block unwanted callers on your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+:
- Click on your Phone Dialer app (on the bottom left of your home screen)
- In the Recents menu, click on the number you want to block
- Click the Details icon
- Click the three dots on the top right of the screen
- Next hit Block contact
Once you have followed these five simple steps, your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will automatically reject calls from that specific number for as long as you own your phone.
Good riddance.
