Google Photos for Android and iOS now updated to create photo books from your mobile devices

Father’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re looking for a gift, now is the time to update your Google Photos App on your Android or iOS devices. Photo Books, a new feature announced at Google IO 2017 is now making its way to mobile devices that use Google Photos to store and backup memories. If you’re not using Google Photos you can download and install it in the links below. All you need is a free Google account to take advantage of Google Photos.

Once the app is installed or updated, you can swipe in from the left side of your display to open up the main menu within Photos. You should see a “New” icon next to the new Photo books option.

After clicking on Photo books you will be presented with two options: Softcover book starting at $9.99 and Hardcover book from $19.99. The Softcover book is a 7-inch square and comes with 20 printed pages while the Hardcover book is a larger 9-inch square and comes with 20 pages. If you want to include additional pages, the prices goes up incrementally from the listed starting prices. Creating the Photo book is as simple as selecting which book you want. You can then pick anywhere from 20 to 100 photos to include in your book. You can also layout the pictures in the order you want from the cover to the last page.

A title can be added to the front page, and specific borders can frame every page to give it your own personal touch. While paper books might seem a little old school, having actual printed pictures has extra sentimental value that your father will love. It’s also a great gift for the sons and daughters who are graduating at every level in schools as we head into the summer.

Simply goto the Google Play Store, or Apple App Store on your Android or iOS device and click update on your Google Photos app to take advantage of this new and awesome feature. If you prefer using your computer to go through your pictures, you can always head on over to your Google Photos page and the option to create a Photo book is there too.
