If you’ve ever felt bored by all of the photos and videos on your Instagram feed, Instagram’s Boomerang app (a personal favorite of mine!) is a fun and creative way to give some life to your still shots.
Boomerang is a great video app for making short, action-packed videos that loop back and forth. Though videos must be shot within the app, you don’t need an Instagram account to use it. Fun and simple to use, Boomerang lets users have the option of shooting videos in portrait or landscape, which automatically save to users’ camera rolls.
Boomerang isn’t Instagram’s only standalone app. They’ve also created Layout, a collage-making app, and Hyperlapse, which creates time lapse videos.
Making A Boomerang: Short And Simple
Because the Boomerang app only has one feature, using the app is extremely straightforward. There’s only one button — just point your camera and press, and Boomerang will take 10 photos and stitch them together, speed up the video, smooth out any bumps, and loop it. And just like that, your fun little Boomerang is ready to go.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I love the Boomerang app because it allows me to capture moments rather than just photos. You can get the exact moment when your friend blows out their birthday candles, or re-live that huge cannon ball jump into the pool over and over again.
