Wearsafe Tag : A personal security system to keep you safe no matter your age or situation (as little as $5/month)

Technology these days is all about the next big thing. VR, AR, bezel-free displays and paper-thin televisions are some of the hottest trends of 2017. However there’s technology that is far less talked about that add significant benefits to your lives. One example of this technology is from a company called Wearsafe Labs. Wearsafe Labs is looking to make the world a safer and more connected place with a tag that provides a personal safety net.

How the Wearsafe Tag works

The Wearsafe Tag is a little wearable that connects to your Android or iOS device over Bluetooth. You download the Wearsafe app, create an account and set up the tag to notify loved ones or friends in case of emergencies. A press of a button on the Wearsafe Tag will instantly notify a specific person in your circle of trust that you need help. It’s a simple concept that has almost endless utility but gets little to no glory in the press.

It’s small enough to be worn on your waistband, bra strap, connected to a purse or your keys. It measures 1.33 in. x 1.93 in. (3.4 cm x 4.9 cm) and has an estimated six month battery life which can be replaced with a CR2032 battery for as little as $3.50.

Who is the Wearsafe Tag for?

I can probably think of 20 people off the top of my head who I’d want to get the Wearsafe Tag for. I have an aunt in her late 70s that lives on her own that could use it as a “life alert” system. I have two nieces – one 13 and one 17 (Happy Birthday Keragan) – who live in a different world than I did growing up. Keragan will be heading to college in less than two years and having a personal safety system will allow her to notify her parents if she’s ever in a situation that warrants instant help. Or even for myself. I live alone and am no longer invincible like I was in my 20s. I’ve been unfortunate to have friends pass away from heart attacks, and I wonder if the same could happen to me. Could the Wearsafe Tag be the smartest investment I ever made in myself? If I had a heart attack, no one would know unless I had the wherewithal to have my cellphone handy and call 911. Or if I had the Wearsafe Tag I could simply press a button and my emergency contact could call 911 and let them know my exact location with the GPS tracking capability.

Hopefully my loved ones will never be in these type of situations, but the reality is one day we might need it, including myself. We simply never know what the future holds.

You could probably over think the situations that present themselves where a Wearsafe Tag could help, but the answer really lies in just grabbing one or multiples for loved ones and even yourself.

How much does it cost?

The Wearsafe Tag service costs as little as $5 dollars a month. Many people will balk at a subscription fee, but it makes little sense when people pay double or triple that amount each month just to protect their smartphones in case of accidental damage or theft. They also pay more for home security, car insurance and even meaningless subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and the like. Your personal security should come at the top of the list when it comes to technology that makes a difference.

Wearsafe Labs is even offering its Wearsafe Tag ($30 value) free of charge when you sign up for service. You can even grab the wearable free with a one month subscription at $7 to try it out. The price drops to $60 per year if you pay for it all at once.

The Wearsafe Tag is technology that just makes sense. If you think you might need this one day, or you have someone who you want to help keep safe, head on over to wearsafe.com to learn more.
