Gameplay

Eggs, Inc. is a very addicting clicker game that focuses on making huge profits on selling eggs. If you are unfamiliar with clicker or incremental games, the concept is very simple. The gameplay is focused on the player performing simple actions, such as tapping a button repeatedly to gain currency. In Eggs, Inc. the simple action is to repeatedly tap the red circle with a chicken in the middle. Each tap sends a chicken running from the hatchery to hen housing, where the chickens will lay eggs. There is an option to expand the red circle so that you can use multiple fingers to send more chickens out quicker.

As with other clicker games, there are upgrades to earn currency faster. In Eggs, Inc., the upgrades are called “research” and they fall within two categories: common and epic. Common upgrades cost cash, which is the main currency in the game. Epic upgrades cost gold, which is much rarer to earn. There are various tiers within the common upgrades. Each tier is unlocked by investing more cash into research upgrades. These upgrades range from increasing egg laying rate all the way to bonuses for each running chicken. Investing heavily in research upgrades will quickly build your farm.

As your farm grows bigger, you’ll have to spend some capital in expanding hen housing, expanding your shipping depot, and increasing the number of grain silos. The biggest hen house is called the “Planet Portal”, which can hold an outrageous 175,000,000 chickens. If you get this far, this will cost you a cool 439 decillion dollars. For those that don’t know, that is 439 with 33 zeroes after.

To be able to afford hen housing in the decillion range, you will have to discover new eggs. In the beginning, you’ll start off with an edible egg which has a value of 0.25 cents per egg. Once your farm is worth a certain value, you can discover a new egg, which will increase the value of each egg. Once you discover a new egg, your farm will reset. The only upgrades that will carry over are the epic upgrades.

There is a final aspect of Eggs, Inc. that is incredibly rewarding. You’ll see up to two drones flying by your screen every ten seconds or so. Tapping on these drones will cause them to crash on the floor giving you a bonus of cash or gold. This bonus is huge! Elite drones move through the screen much quicker, making it very difficult to tap. If you tap quick enough, you’ll be rewarded with an exorbitant amount of money.

Impressions

This game is a ton of fun to play in short bursts. Like all clicker games, Eggs, Inc. is susceptible to feeling repetitive. There is an initial wave of satisfaction from gaining trillions of dollars and upgrading hundreds of times. As you progress throughout the game, you’ll have to grind much longer to purchase research upgrades and discover new eggs. The mechanics and gameplay continues to be the same with currency increasing up to the decillion range.

The great thing about Eggs, Inc. is how much you can do without paying a single dime. Secondary currency in other games is either extremely difficult to obtain or cost real money. Eggs, Inc. is an exception and while there are in-app purchases, you can easily earn gold without spending a dime.

Eggs, Inc. offers colorful 3D graphics. The game itself runs incredibly smooth, which is shown off by the simulation of swarms of chicken running from the hatchery to the hen house. Eggs, Inc. does not try to overload you with wordy instructions or complex controls. Instead, the game opts for a a few visual buttons that you can tap on for more information or to access research upgrades.

Overall

Eggs, Inc. is an addictive clicker game that rewards all types of players. Active players will spend a majority of time investing in research upgrades and tapping away to increase the number of chickens on their farm. Casual players will log on once or twice a day to slowly upgrade their farm and rely on their grain siloes to do most of the work for them. The best part about this game is that it does not need Internet connection to play. This makes it perfect for traveling or some quick stress relief by bashing on the chicken button for a couple of minutes.
