The Momentum extension is an absolute must for anyone who has Google Chrome or Safari. Momentum is a personal dashboard that opens up anytime you open your browser or open a new tab. It is infinitely times better than opening up to a bland Google search page. You can judge for yourself below. Which would you rather have?
What can Momentum do for you?
The whole purpose of Momentum is to increase productivity and create a positive environment. The first thing you’ll notice is how beautiful the backgrounds are. Momentum randomly displays breathtaking nature pictures that change every day. This is probably my favorite part about Momentum. Who wants to look at the Google search bar when you can look at National Geographic-esque photos everyday.
It gets even better. Momentum gives you a motivational quote to help inspire you to be at your best. Motivational quotes are a great way to jump-start your day with positive energy to tackle even the toughest tasks. If anything, you’ll get plenty of quotes to put on your social media profile.
There are many different options to help boost productivity. You can add todo tasks to make a list of things you need to accomplish that day. If you really want to get fancy, you can pay for Momentum Plus, which will allow you to sync with other task managers such as Asana, Trello, Todoist, Wunderlist, and Google Tasks. This will only set you back $2.50/month. The weather option allows you to see the temperature of your city and a simple forecast. You can also set the focus option, which displays your major goal for the day.
Momentum is all simplicity. You aren’t bombarded with overwhelming information about things you don’t care about. It’s really up to you to decide what you want your personal dashboard to show. I like that I start off the workday with Momentum saying “Good Morning, Luke Nam”. It’s almost as if I have a personal assistant to greet me in the morning and give me something inspirational to read. Every option can be toggled on or off based on preference. I like a simple design which includes only the weather, quote, and search option toggled on. If you don’t have Momentum, I would strongly suggest checking it out.
