Samsung suffered one of the worst setbacks last year with the recall of its powerful Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. A manufacturing issue caused the phone to combust and as a result, Samsung was forced to recall the Note 7. Note fans, you know who you are (I’m one of them), love everything about the Note. We love the massive display. We love the internal horsepower that makes it one of the top performers every single year. And we love all of the added features that aren’t found on any other smartphone, including the wildly popular S-Pen. There are many who don’t understand the S-Pen, or the massive display, but those people probably aren’t diehard Note fans.
Those of us who are fans took a huge blow when the Note 7 was recalled. We were forced to fall back on phones that we didn’t really want to use like the Galaxy S7, iPhone, or some other non Note. Some of us even hung onto them longer than we should have. Eventually Samsung issued software/firmware updates which essentially bricked the phone in order to protect its users from hurting themselves or damaging their property. But now with the Note 8 release imminent, Samsung has issued a thank you video to its most loyal fans on YouTube.
Samsung brought in real comments from real fans and assembled them into a great video. More importantly for us Note fans, Samsung did us right by keeping the phone line alive and not abandoning it. Samsung even pushed innovation further by completely recessing the dual cameras and keeping the body as slim as its counterparts in the S8 and S8+.
We all make mistakes and Samsung is no different. It’s made up of real people who try their best to deliver the best products to its customers and it learned from the Note 7 mistake and got better from it.
