How to trick your iPhone friends into thinking you have the all new iPhone X (Android tips)

Apple is finally joining the almost bezel free revolution this year with the iPhone X. Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and Essential all beat Apple to the punch and you can even trick your iPhone fanboy friends into thinking you got the X early with your Android bezel free smartphone. If you know an iPhone fanboy, you know they’re extremely loyal to the brand. They’re so loyal that they don’t even consider Android smartphones to be anywhere near the level of perfection that the iPhone has reached, so that will make this prank a little easier to pull on them.

They won’t be familiar with the Note 8, S8, S8+, LG G6 or even the Essential Phone which probably most closely resembles the X with its cutout at the top for the camera and speaker.

If you own one of these devices, you’re set up perfectly for pulling a quick one on your iPhone homies.

Here’s how to make your bezel free Android smartphone look like the iPhone X.

1. Install the free xOS Launcher from the Google Play Store (link to the official app in the install bar below)

2. Install a new iOS 11 Wallpaper – You can long press the image below and save it to your images. Go to your folder where you store your images (usually Gallery or Google Photos) and select this image as your wallpaper for both you homescreen and lockscreen. You can also view all of the full iOS 11 wallpapers here

3. Next for all of the bezel free phones besides the Essential Phone, install the app XOutOf10 to get the black bar look that’s found on the iPhone X.

4. Once installed, simply open the app, hit start and the black bar at the top of your display will magically open.

Your phone should look mostly like an iPhone X at this point. Since no one has really seen the iPhone X out in the real world yet, this prank is good to use until the phone is truly launched in mass. You have to make up your own story at this point, but I told my friends that I’m in a secret Apple beta program. I then flashed my Note 8 out of my pocket and told them they could only look, but not touch since I didn’t want to get kicked out of the secret program. You’re free to make up any story at this point, but go ahead and see if you can prank your friends.

Or maybe you’ll even find that you like having an iPhone themed Android and can leave your phone setup this way. I didn’t like this setup so I uninstalled these apps and my phone reverted back to its normal self in a few seconds.

Let us know in the comments below if it worked or not.
