There are a few times when you might need to factory reset your smartphone. Maybe you got a new phone, you’re having issues with poor battery life and performance, or you simply want to start fresh with a clean slate. It’s not often that you will need to perform a factory reset, which means it may be a bit confusing to find out how to do it since Samsung devices have so many changes to the Settings app on the newest Galaxy devices.
Here’s the quickest way to factory reset your Samsung Galaxy Note 8, S8 and S8+
- Open the Settings app
- Open General Management
- Click Reset
- Click on Factory reset data
This will erase all of the data on your phone including all files and downloaded apps. Your phone will be reset to the settings and options that were defaults from Samsung. Your phone is now safe to give away or sell on a third-party site like Craigslist, ebay or Swappa.
