If you’re an avid music fan like me, you’ve probably heard of 808 Audio. It’s a company born from a love of music, to produce affordable and unique audio products for those who love to listen to their jams. 808 Audio just announced its latest addition to its lineup – the all-new XL-V. The 808 Audio XL-V is a canister style speaker with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant service built-in to help you answer questions, schedule your day, read recipes, convert units, order pizza or an Uber, but most importantly help you listen to your music across your whole home. Similar to Amazon’s own speakers, the XL-V is always listening for commands – just say “Alexa” and ask the speaker a question or give it a command and it will respond.
Where the XL-V differs from Amazon’s own speakers is its focus is on audio first. It has high-powered multi-directional drivers, with a reflex port for clean crisp lows, that can fill entire rooms with your favorite tunes. 808 Audio makes speakers for listening, not just hearing about background noise.
It also features built-in WiFi so you can add more than one to your home or apartment and listen to the same song across your entire dwelling. The XL-V connects to your favorite music sources: Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio to name a few, and can connect over Bluetooth for non-native sources. Smart home devices like the Nest Thermostat, Arlo security camera, and Philips Hue lights are all voice compatible with the XL-V as well.
The XL-V is an Alexa enabled smart assistant that is designed for music lovers who want more from their speakers.
The 808 Audio XL-V will be available in November for $129.99 at Amazon, Crutchfield, and Frys, as well as on 808audio.com.
