Computer issue? Phone issue? The golden rule from every IT support person is to restart your device. Restarting your smartphone is something that should be done on a regular basis, but very few people actually do it these days. The software has become much more reliable and stable leading to less required restarts. However, it’s good practice to do it anyways since your device is performing millions of tasks and a good ol’ fresh restart can fix unforeseen issues. If you’ve got a late-model Samsung Galaxy smartphone, S8, S8+ or Note 8, you can have your device restart on its own once a week using a built-in feature no other devices have. By using this feature, it will ensure your phone stays error free to stay fresh and fast.
Here’s how to enable auto-restart on your Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8.
- Go to Settings
- Click General Management
- Click Reset – don’t worry, this won’t actually reset your phone. It just brings you to the reset settings.
- Click
- Select a time and day you want your phone to auto restart. It will perform the restart as long as you’re not using your phone, with battery life above 30% and SIM card lock is off without internal storage encryption enabled.
This is a simple but useful tool that will help you keep your late-model Galaxy smartphone running at its best.
