Let me paint you a scenario. You made the mistake of physically shopping at stores for Christmas presents the year before. To make things even worse, you waited a couple days before Christmas. Every procrastinator in the world shops at this time and let me tell you, it’s a freaking nightmare. You realize as the tech-savvy person you are that you can just buy all your presents on Amazon and avoid the circus that is Christmas shopping. Only problem is that there are now 15 boxes of Amazon packages in front of your door and you don’t know what gifts are what. You’re in luck! The Amazon app has a feature called Package X-Ray that allows you to take a picture of the packing slip and let you know what is inside. Here’s how.
How to use Amazon’s Package X-Ray
- Make sure you have the Amazon app downloaded on your phone or tablet.
- Log into your Amazon account using your login information
- Tap the Camera icon located at the top right
- Align your shipping label to see what’s inside
- You can now view the item you ordered and see order details as well
Let me clarify a couple things for you right off the bat. I’ve been reading a lot of comments from people saying “now thieves can see what’s in your packages easier! Thanks a lot, Amazon!” This is false. You can only view packages if they are connected to your account. This means that you won’t be able to see your Christmas presents by scanning the packages unless you have the person’s account info that ordered the gifts.
It is much easier to scan the items rather than opening up each package, making a note of what’s what, and re-packaging every box. It’s not a big deal to open one or two boxes, but if you have more than 10, the Package X-Ray feature is the way to go. Hope everyone has a happy holiday and stay warm!
