Do you feel the need to bother everyone around you? If so, Chicken Scream is the perfect game for you. Chicken Scream is a non-tapping interactive game where you control a chicken with your voice to overcome obstacles to the finish line. Let’s take a look at this hilarious, obnoxious game.
Gameplay
Chicken Scream is different from other games because the controls are your voice. Stay silent to keep the chicken still. Speak or hum softly to get the chicken moving and when you need the chicken to jump, scream loudly. There are two game modes to choose from classic and adventure. Classic mode lets you try to beat your high score, where you get more points the further you go.
Adventure mode is where the fun begins. There are four mini-games to choose from. Each mini-game has 25 levels that increase in difficulty as you progress. The first mini-game is similar to the classic mode except there is a finish line. The level is completed when you safely get to the finish line without dying.
The second mini-game allows you to control a spring. The spring is used to help chickens jump across the water safely to the other side of the bridge.
The third mini-game has you control a chicken to avoid getting hit by arrows shot from a castle.
The fourth mini-game has up to four different colored chickens that each represent a different sound. You need to tap the chicken in the correct order to reproduce the song to complete the level.
Impressions
Chicken Scream is a fun game but will make you look obnoxious. I like to play next to my sister, while she is trying to take a nap. It’s a bit more difficult to play in public because you’ll be getting a ton of strange looks when you’re yelling at your phone. You can still play adventure mode, which has three different mini-games that don’t require you to yell at your phone.
In my opinion, the best way to play is by turning up the sensitivity to the max level. This will allow you to get the chicken to jump without having to raise your voice too high. It can be a bit tricky nailing down the right volume to get your chicken to consistently move without jumping. I’m not going to lie, it gets throat tired after a while because you’re basically humming constantly for a minute straight.
You collect coins in Chicken Scream that let you buy different chicken characters. These different chicken characters are strictly for aesthetics and do not have special abilities tied to different characters.
Like all free games, Chicken Scream has ads that pop in between levels. You have the option of paying $1.99 to remove all ads. This isn’t a bad idea because the ads get a bit annoying. I don’t mind ads at the bottom of the game, but video ads are the worst. You can also pay $1.99 to unlock all the chickens if you don’t feel like collecting enough coins to unlock every single one.
Overall
Chicken Scream is an addicting game that can be obnoxious if you have people around you. The unique controls offer a nice change of pace from all the other games that you find in the Google Play and App Store. Adventure mode offers a lot of variety to the game, which increases replay value. If the game was only in classic mode, I could see it becoming boring pretty fast. Go ahead and check it out! It’s a lot of fun.
