15 winter tech gadgets that are perfect for the cold weather

The East Coast is crazy cold right now. It’s so cold that Florida has even seen some snowfall. I grew up in Florida so the concept of snow in the Sunshine State blows my mind. The East Coast is about to be hit with a “bomb cyclone”, which basically that winter is going to be brutal. Think strong winds, snow, and subzero temperatures.

Cold weather makes daily tasks a challenge. Getting out of the shower to be met with the cold air is a form of torture I do not wish upon anyone. Even texting can be a challenge. You have to take your gloves off and let your hands freeze. With this in mind, we’ve compiled 15 of our favorite winter tech to use when it gets cold outside. Check them out!

1. iGotTech Texting Gloves: Amazon

Like I mentioned above, wintertime texting can be a challenge. You can take your gloves off to send a text and let your fingers get numb. Or you can grab a pair of iGotTech texting gloves. These gloves will let you use your smartphone while keeping your hands warm at the same time. These are great when it isn’t too cold outside.

2.  Gouler Active Stylus Pen: Amazon

When it gets to sub-zero temperatures, you’re going to want to ditch the texting gloves. You won’t be able to find texting gloves that will keep your hands warm in this kind of weather. Instead, you need to pull the trigger on whatever warm gloves you own and get a stylus. The Gouler stylus has a fine metal point which makes it easier to use on smaller smartphone screens.

3. URPOWER Humidifier: Amazon

Cold weather means dry air which can cause irritation to different parts of your body. The URPOWER humidifier is a great way to add moist, comfortable air to small bedrooms and workspace cubicles. It also features 7 color-changing lamps.

4. ValueRays USB Heated Mouse: Amazon

Have you ever noticed how clumsy your hand gets when its cold? The cold turns my hand into clumsy meat paws where I am constantly mis-clicking. The ValueRays USB heated mouse can warm to about 99 degrees for extended periods of time. This can help sooth hands from poor circulation caused by the poor weather. This is perfect for any cold office.

5. ValueRays USB Mouse Hand Warmer: Amazon

This is pretty much a mouse pad with a heated blanket over your hand. You might think this is stupid but have you ever tried a Snuggie. It’s basically a backward blanket robe and it might be the greatest invention ever. You got to do whatever it takes to keep your hands warm.

6. Kupx Heated Mouse Mat: Amazon

This is the last heated computer I’ll add to the list. This is a large, heated mouse pad that is perfect for gaming. Large surface areas are critical for optimal gaming. Plus, you can’t take any days off just because it’s cold outside. This also doubles as a foot warmer if your feet get cold.

7. Anker PowerCore 13000: Amazon, Anker

Have you noticed your battery life drains faster when its cold outside? You’re not imagining things. Lithium batteries aren’t made for extreme temperatures so you may find your favorite devices dying quicker. Go grab a portable battery so that you’re not without your phone. You can’t go wrong with Anker. I have a couple of these portable batteries and I love them. This model has the capacity to charge your phone about 3-5 times depending on what kind of phone you have.

8. ixaer Heated Travel Mug: Amazon

This dual-walled, vacuum-insulated stainless steel tumbler is the ultimate travel mug. This stainless steel cup plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter and maintains a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. You can also unplug it and use it as a regular mug to keep your drinks hot or cold for hours.

9. Mr. Coffee Mug Warmer: Mr. Coffee, Amazon

Keep your favorite mug of coffee, tea, or cocoa hot when you want it. This is something everyone should keep on their desk when it is cold outside. The extended cord length is long enough so you can use it almost anywhere.

10. 180s Tec Fleece Head Warmer Headphones: Amazon

Keep to the beat all winter long with the Tec Fleece Warmer Headphones. Enjoy the fusion of warmth and crystal clear sound, whether you’re jogging, shoveling the driveway, or walking the dog. Triple layer construction provides thermal retention, blocks wind and wicks moisture.

11. Cobra Electronics JumPack XL: Amazon

I don’t think there is anything more frustrating than hearing the “click, click” of a dead battery. It just happened to me recently and I was livid. None of my friends answered the phone to come jump start my car so I had to wait two hours for AAA. Extreme cold can increase your battery’s rate of discharge. This will make you more susceptible to a dead battery. The Cobra JumPack can jump start most light-duty vehicles. It also has the ability to charge portable devices such as your cell phone. Don’t get stuck outside in the cold with a dead battery!

12. Rantom Bottle Warmer and Lens Heater: Amazon

Do you have a baby? Or do you have a camera? These might be random questions but the Rantom Bottle Warmer and Lens Heater is perfect if you answer yes to either or both of the questions above. This heater can warm a baby’s bottle to reach 131 degrees Fahrenheit which will not harm the nutrition of the milk. This can also be used to reduce the blurring on your camera lens when it gets too cold outside.

13. FULLLIGHT TECH Bluetooth Beanie: Amazon

If you’re the type to go out into the freezing cold weather to get a workout in, you might be interested in this beanie that has built-in stereo speakers. This beanie is charged via USB and has a battery life up to six hours. Keep your ears warm and listen to your favorite tunes at the same time.

14. Belkin Mini Surge Protector with USB Charger: Amazon

Once it gets cold, the portable heaters come out like clockwork. This is another thing you need to plug into the outlet so you should think about getting a solid surge protector. The Belkin Mini surge protector is a great option because it also comes with USB ports to charge your tablet and phone. It’s also really compact so you can travel with it without taking up too much space in your luggage.

15. Peepsnake Smartphone Scarf: Amazon

The Peepsnake smartphone scarf fits most Android smartphones and iPhones while keeping you warm at the same time. It is made of Micro 250 fleece which is the vegan alternative to wool. The back camera lens window is for taking photos and videos while your phone is stored in the scarf pocket. Eliminate the need to carry a purse and just go with the scarf instead!

I sincerely hope everyone stays safe and warm on the East Coast. Make sure to keep your smartphones, tablets, or other items with batteries away from the cold if possible. They are not meant to be in extreme conditions. Hopefully, some of these tech gadgets can keep you warm during this winter season.
