How to uninstall unnecessary apps on Windows 10 (tutorial)

It is important to uninstall unnecessary apps to speed up your computer and free up local storage. It should be the first thing you do when you get a new laptop. Windows 10 comes with preinstalled bloatware that you should uninstall right away. Programs or apps like 3D Builder, Get Started, etc take up precious space and will never be used. You probably don’t even know that it’s been preinstalled on your brand new computer. Here’s how to uninstall unnecessary apps on Windows 10.

Uninstall unnecessary apps or programs on Windows 10

  1. Click Start
  2. Click the Settings (gear icon)
  3. Click Apps
  4. Scroll down and find the app you want to uninstall
  5. Click on the app you want to uninstall and click uninstall

If you want to take a shortcut, just search Apps & features in the Cortana search bar.

Unfortunately, you can’t uninstall everything on Windows 10. Apps like Xbox and Groove Music can’t be uninstalled by conventional means. However, if you have third-party apps or programs that you downloaded and you don’t use them anymore, go ahead and uninstall them. They take up valuable space and can slow down your computer. Make it a habit to look through every couple of months and uninstall apps that you haven’t used in a while.
