I think we can all come to a consensus that the new Snapchat update is a cluttered mess. The major update happened while I was taking a month-long hiatus from social media. When I redownloaded Snapchat, I didn’t know how to do anything in the app. Despite how you may feel about the recent update, Snapchat is still a popular form of communicating via pictures. Snapchat changed the social media game by making photos and messages only available for a short period of time before they disappeared forever. Add in crazy, fun filters and you can see why so many people use Snapchat.
Due to the temporary nature of photos on Snapchat, there is a tendency to send or receive embarrassing photos. Luckily, Snapchat has a private feature called “My Eyes Only” that lets you set a passcode to protect any Snaps you don’t want other people to see. That way if you want to show your friends or family a picture of your niece with a funny filter on, you don’t have to worry about scrolling over a picture of you blacked out with all your friends.

I would highly, highly recommend writing your passcode down somewhere. If you happen to forget your passcode, Snapchat won’t even be able to unlock your account. You’ll have to create another passcode and you’ll lose everything in your “My Eyes Only” folder.
