Samsung is stepping up to do its part to take care of those who take care of us. In this unprecedented time of a global pandemic, Samsung has setup a brand new program to repair its smartphones for doctors, nurses, EMTs, medical staff, hospital staff, nursing home staff, pharmacists, law enforcement and firefighters, including volunteer firefighters. I commend Samsung for keeping our hero’s devices working at optimal performance so they have one less worry on their plate.
What the program will offer for repairs
- Screen replacement for the front of the phone
- Glass replacement for the rear of the phone
- Battery replacement
- Speaker repair
- Microphone repair
- Possible additional repairs can approved as well
Requirements
- Local heroes will be required to show ID with first and last name, and employers name
- Valid IDs accepted: work badge or employment ID
How to get your phone fixed
To get your phone fixed, you must either call 1-800-SAMSUNG to set up a repair, or visit Samsung’s support online at https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/ to set up a repair. Make sure to have your current ID ready when you call or visit a service center. The promotion period runs from April 20th through June 30th 2020. Authorized service centers (UBreakiFix) are also available to fix your phone for free as well. Unfortunately, since Best Buy locations are closed, its repair departments cannot fix your phones.
The dollar limit for repairs is $279.99 which should be enough to cover almost all damaged devices. Devices with corrosion and devices that won’t turn on will not be able to participate in this program. Any phone with unauthorized parts in it will also be disqualified.
Thank you first responders for putting your lives in harms way to keep us all safe.
